AARCH, Elisa Gabbert, and John Cotter Recently at Hood
Here are a few pics from recent Humanities Colloquium events:
We had a wonderful visit from AARCH – the African American Resources – Cultural and Heritage Society. Ms. Harris introduced a packed house to a number of stories of African American history in Frederick County.
It was standing room only in the Marx Center for Poet Elisa Gabbert’s reading.
And novelist/essayist John Cotter recounted his experience of losing his hearing – what it meant to him as an artist and as a person in the world. The talk was heartfelt, at times heartbreaking and at times funny, and incredibly informative.
It’s been a great semester so far!
